Illness Policy |

It is important for the health of all children, staff and families that your child not be at daycare when sick. Keep your child home from daycare when he or she has:
· A fever 100o or higher within the previous 24 hours · A consistent, goopy, runny nose · White or yellow drainage from the eye, crusty eyes, or redness of the eyelid or skin surrounding the eye · A bad cough · A sore throat, especially with fever or swollen glands in the neck · Shortness of breath or other problems with normal breathing · A child that seems ill - unusually tired, pale, difficult to wake, headache, body ache, confused or irritable, or lack of normal appetite. · A rash that is associated with a fever or severe itching · Open or oozing sores · Vomiting or diarrhea within the previous 24 hours, or bloody diarrhea · Started a course of antibiotics with the previous 24 hours · Any infectious or contagious disease that can infect other children · Lice, nits or ringworm · As directed by your child’s health care provider

When should I keep my child home from childcare? |

What immunization records are required? |
|
State law requires that immunization records are maintained for each child enrolled in the Center. Please be prepared to provide this information about your child upon enrollment. If you would like, you may ask your health care provider to fax immunization records directly to the center: 509.928.0559
Children who are behind on their immunizations may be temporarily excluded from care. |

Yes. Hand washing is the single best way to reduce or stop the spread of illness and reduce infections. Children wash their hands with soap and warm water and are assisted by staff as needed. Individual wash clothes and paper towels are provided. |
